Hate and Bias Prevention Unit: Rapid Response Team

The Hate and Bias Rapid Response Team (RRT) is a program of DHR’s Hate and Bias Prevention Unit. The RRT provides a coordinated, rapid, and community-focused response to hate and bias incidents. Its mission is to serve as a resource for victims of hate or bias incidents; support communities as they mobilize in response to bias incidents or hate crimes; promote individual and community healing; address underlying sources of community tension and facilitate collaborative reporting of hate crimes and bias incidents.

 

The Rapid Response Team offers the following services in coordination and collaboration with local community partners:

 

Conflict Resolution and Restorative Justice Processes

  • Restorative Conferences
  • Restorative Conversations
  • Healing and Support Circles
  • Community Dialogue and De-escalation
  • Mediation
  • Trainings and Workshops

 

Resource Referral and System Navigation

  • Incident reporting
  • Referrals to trauma-informed victim resources
