The Hate and Bias Prevention Unit’s Response Team provides a coordinated and community-focused response to hate and bias incidents. Its mission is to serve as a resource for victims of hate or bias incidents; support communities as they mobilize in response to bias incidents or hate crimes; promote individual and community healing; address underlying sources of community tension; and facilitate collaborative reporting of hate crimes and bias incidents.
Anyone who witnesses or experiences hate in New York State is encouraged to report it to the Hate and Bias Prevention Unit by using our online reporting form or calling: (844) 662-4283. Reporting hate and bias to the Division is safe, simple, and can be anonymous.
